Rebecca Hatsumi Haynes earned her B.A. in Visual Art with a minor in Informatics in 2021 and her M.F.A. in Arts Leadership at Seattle University in 2023.
Her undergraduate and graduate studies focused on a people-centered approach to research, design, leadership, and arts management.
Her studies showed her how informatics and visual storytelling can be harnessed to build cultural bridges and create new possibilities.
In all she does, whether it is working within arts, research, or education sectors, she hopes to give others opportunities to express their ideas,
experiences, and stories in ways that are empowering and influential.
At MEMconsultants, Rebecca specializes in evaluation to understand visitor experience, and regularly completes gallery observations and intercept
interviews at museums and other cultural institutions. She also supports survey data analysis and reporting for multiple youth and family serving programs.
Rebecca sees visitor experience data collection as an essential way to amplify and address the needs of diverse community voices, and involve multiple perspectives in decision-making.
In the past, Rebecca has completed internships with Urban Artworks and the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, and served as a teaching assistant in Chiba, Japan.
Rebecca is also a visual artist.
